Jordan Officially Declares Thursday, September 4th a Public Holiday

Jordan is set to pause on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in celebration of Mawlid an-Nabawi, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. Government offices, universities, municipalities, and state-owned companies will close, while essential services continue as usual.

The announcement by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan also encourages all government bodies to honor the occasion in meaningful ways. Observed every year on the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, this year it falls on September 4, highlighting Jordan’s commitment to celebrating its rich religious and cultural traditions.
