Japan is considering officially recognizing the State of Palestine to promote peace in West Asia, according to Ambassador Yoichi Nakashima. Speaking on Palestine TV, Nakashima expressed Japan’s support for a two-state solution and noted that "Israeli" actions obstruct Palestinian sovereignty.

He highlighted Japan’s significant contributions to the UN’s Palestinian aid agency, UNRWA, and criticized Israel’s targeting of international organizations. Nakashima also affirmed Japan’s support for the International Court of Justice's recent efforts to end the "Israeli" occupation.

Japan’s commitment to Palestinian support aligns with former Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa’s statement backing a potential recognition of Palestine.
