A new public park, Al Nashama Park, has officially opened in the Marj Al Hamam area of Amman following its inauguration by Jordan’s Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan.

The park spans approximately 56 dunums and was completed by the Greater Amman Municipality within a five-month timeframe. It was named “Al Nashama” in recognition of the Jordan national football team’s historic qualification for the FIFA World Cup.

The site features modern landscaping, with green spaces covering around 40% of its total area, alongside walking paths, seating areas, and dedicated children’s play zones.

A major highlight of the park is a 10,000-square-meter sports complex comprising 11 courts, including:

  • Three five-a-side football pitches
  • Two basketball courts
  • Two tennis courts
  • Four padel courts

Additional facilities include a one-kilometre running and cycling track, outdoor fitness equipment (including accessible equipment for persons with disabilities), and parking capacity for approximately 205 vehicles across onsite and service-road areas, making it one of Amman’s newest multifunctional recreational destinations.

In addition, an adjacent eight-story building has been acquired to house several official entities. The structure will serve as the new headquarters for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Environment, and the Jordan Tourism Board, in a move aimed at centralizing tourism and environmental governance near one of the city’s emerging green zones.
