Lush Donates 100% of Watermelon Soap Profits to Palestinian Children

Lush cosmetics Palestinian campaign watermelon soap

The British cosmetics retailer Lush Cosmetics has launched a new watermelon soap, committing all profits to finance projects that provide professional mental health support for Palestinian children in Gaza and the West Bank.

A 2023 study revealed that 53.5% of children in Gaza are experiencing PTSD. The study concluded that PTSD, depression, and anxiety are extremely common among children and youth in the Gaza Strip. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for mental health interventions and support services in the region.

This initiative follows over nine months of genocide in Gaza, which has claimed around 40,000 Palestinian lives and caused extensive destruction and damage to the Gaza Strip. The prolonged violence and instability have left a profound impact on the mental well-being of the region's children, many of whom have witnessed traumatic events.

The watermelon has become a symbol of Palestinian resistance and expression in protests and artworks after 'Israel' banned the Palestinian flag.

Lush Cosmetics is renowned for creating vegetarian products using fresh and organic ingredients. The company has a history of fighting against animal testing and over-packaging.
