Jordan’s Coffee Prices Spike by 50%! ☕️

If your morning cup suddenly feels more expensive, you’re not imagining things. Coffee prices in Jordan have surged by 50%, with the cost of a quick street coffee climbing from 50 fils to 75 fils.

According to Roya News, this jump is due to a rise in the wholesale cost of raw coffee beans, which increased by over 2 JDs per kilogram. Sellers across the country are adjusting their prices accordingly. And it's not just the beans — cardamom, a key ingredient in many local blends, has seen a 58% price increase over the past year.

Street vendors and coffee kiosks say they’ve had no choice but to raise prices, with the hikes already being felt across Amman and beyond.

☕️ But here’s the upside — while the hike might hit daily routines, it’s also sparking bigger conversations. Some economic experts believe this could be the perfect moment for Jordan to strengthen its local coffee industry. From encouraging local roasting to supporting Jordan-based sourcing and production, this shift could pave the way for a more resilient and self-sufficient coffee scene.

With innovation and investment, today’s challenge might just become tomorrow’s opportunity. 🇯🇴✨
