Three-Day School Break Announced Ahead of Parliamentary Elections

The Ministry of Education in Jordan has announced a three-day suspension of classes for all public schools next week. The break will take place on Monday, September 9, and Wednesday, September 11, with Tuesday, September 10, being a designated election day.

This decision is closely tied to the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for September 10. Many public schools across the kingdom have been chosen as polling stations and vote-counting centers, necessitating the temporary closure.

A ministry spokesperson explained to Roya, a Jordanian TV channel, that the closure is to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections, given the large number of schools involved in the process. The decision reflects the ministry's commitment to facilitating the electoral process while minimizing disruption to students and educators.

This break will provide an opportunity for schools to prepare for the influx of voters and ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for the election day.
