The Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF) has announced the projects selected for the Pitching Platforms of the Amman Film Industry Days (AFID), continuing its support for emerging Arab filmmakers.

Following an open call that received 154 submissions from across the region, selected filmmakers will pitch their projects in front of a jury of industry professionals, who will evaluate their artistic vision, originality, and growth potential while awarding cash and in-kind support.

AFID will take place from 27 July to 1 August 2026 during the 7th edition of AIFF.

β€œThis year, we see a clear growth not only in the number of projects selected, but also in the quality, ambition, and range of the submitted stories,” said Bassam Alasad, Head of Industry Development, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships at AIFF and Head of AFID.

β€œIn line with this year’s festival theme, Beyond the Frame, the projects look beyond the image: exploring displacement, family silence, memory, belonging, and the questions that make each story a cinematic necessity.”
