European Film Festival 2024: Free Films, Workshops, and a Tribute to Gaza

36th European Film Festival in Jordan 2024

The 36th edition of the European Film Festival (EUFF) has returned to Jordan, running from September 13th to 30th, 2024. This year’s festival is going to be an exceptional event, featuring over 25 films from Europe and Jordan, all screened free of charge. The festival starts with an invitation-only opening night at the Royal Film Commission (RFC) on September 13th, before opening to the public the next day with screenings and activities in Amman, then moving to Aqaba, Zarqa, As-Salt, and Irbid.

A unique feature of the festival is its inclusivity, with workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions designed to engage the public. Aspiring filmmakers, especially Jordanian youth, are encouraged to participate in the Mobile Film Competition, offering a platform to showcase their creativity. The festival will culminate with an awards ceremony where the most promising talents will be recognized for their outstanding work.

In a special event on September 27th at the Royal Film Commission, filmmakers will pay tribute to Gaza, exploring resilience through cinema. Irish documentary Gaza will be screened, presenting a moving portrayal of life in the region. Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, a prominent supporter of the event, emphasized the importance of highlighting Palestine during this festival, stating that shedding light on the situation ensures the festival’s relevance in today's context.

With all events free of charge, this year’s EUFF promises to be an unmissable celebration of creativity, resilience, and cultural exchange. Go to https://euffjordan.com to learn more about the festival, movies, schedule, and competition.
