Drake’s New Album Features Lebanese Icon Fairouz!

Drake is making waves with his upcoming album ICEMAN, and this time, he’s bringing cultures together in a surprising way!
In a recent livestream, the Canadian superstar previewed a track that samples the iconic Lebanese song “Wahdon” by Fairouz. The remix gives the classic song a modern, moody vibe, blending gentle beats with Fairouz’s unforgettable voice.
Sampling Fairouz wasn’t random. Drake’s longtime producer, Noah “40” Shebib, who co-founded OVO Sound, is of Lebanese descent. His connection to his roots has influenced many of Drake’s musical choices, including this striking cross-cultural tribute!
Originally released in 1979, “Wahdon” was written by poet Talal Haidar and composed by Ziad Rahbani, Fairouz’s son, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Themes of loss and longing in the original now find new life in Drake’s reinterpretation.
Drake’s take on this timeless classic proves that music knows no borders when genres, cultures, and generations collide, something unexpected and magical can happen!
